Whatever Wednesday

Wednesday...

Let's see. Anything goes on Wednesday so here are some really random thoughts:

RANDOM THOUGHT #1

This one person here at work, she was listed in the post about personality conflicts as "Nosey", wears these little shoes with small jingle bells on them. Everywhere she walks you hear this jingling. At first it just seems that she is REALLY into the Christmas spirit, but after a full day f listening to it and the fact that it seems she will wear them everyday until Christmas, I fully would like to take those jingle bells and shove them down her throat.

RANDOM THOUGHT #2

Have you ever been compared to a celebrity? Well, I have and sometimes it's a good thing, but other times not so much. Here is a list of Celebrities that I have either been told I resemble in ways, or people have been reminded of:

Jeanine Garafalo (eewww), Natalie Merchant (huh?), Angelina Jolie (thanks Kim and that boy from that bar!), Rachel Ray (from the food channel, overwhelming instances of this comparing) and A dark haired Hilary Duff (err..huh?). What do you think? What celebrities have you been compared to? Please Comment!!

RANDON THOUGHT #3

How about a little German? Here is a phrase that I stumbled upon when using a translation site online for work. I misspelled a word and this phrase came up. How fitting right? I will now use it in my german vocabulary:

"Ich bin in geheimem Auftrag."

Translation: "I am on a secret mission"

Weird, right?

RANDOM THOUGHT #4

Quick! Name your favorite movie...whatever comes to mind first and post a comment on what it was!

I will post a comment and let you know what mine is...or can you guess?

HAVE A GREAT WHATEVER WEDNESDAY!

Tuesday T-Bop : Celebrities

How about a little scoop on those pesky celebrities?

Spiltsville for Nick and Jessica

Nick and Jessica have finally split. Does this surprise us? Not in the least. She's had a few hit singles, was in a the "Movie that Shall Not be Named" this past summer and it is obvious that the variety shows are all about Jessica. So where does Nick fit in? Apparently nowhere. His album tanked, and Jessica outshined him in every aspect of their joint ventures. I am sure with her new found fame of the last two years she decided that the grass was greener (and richer) on the other side. I will bet that within a year Jessica will be linked with not one but a few hollywood catches whose stars have risen farther than Nick's ever could. Nick will try hard to make some grand gestures and get his career (as if there ever was one) back on track. All in all I think this will be kinda fun to watch.

TomKat: Aliens among us?

Katie, you know those dreams of alien abduction you have been having? The one where you felt you were impregnated by an alien? and the ones where you see a bright light but the face of the abductor is not visible? Where he hooks you up to a machine that monitors your baby as if studying it's movements and growth? Well, they are real. My roomate and I were discussing the fact that recently Tom Cruise bought a sonogram machine so he can his baby any time he likes. Could it get any creepier?

We are convinced that he is actually an alien who has come to this planet born of an abductee from Syracuse, NY who moved on to hollywood by placing everyone in a trance. Obviously noone would hire him based on acting talent alone! He then tried to find suitable mothers for his alien children but noone would comply. Mimi Rogers ran to the hills when his plan was revealed. Nicole Kidman refused and adopted instead, but little did Niki know that the adopted son and daughter are actually Aliens too! Once Nicole escaped this terrible nightmare, Tom set his sights on an easier target. Poor impressionable Katie has been trapped in an alien nightmare! Her every move is watched by a member of the "Scientology Force", she is pulled and pushed by Tom to be seen with him in public and now she is forced to have random frequent sonograms by Tom in order for him to keep an eye on his alien spawn! It's fist pumping, couch jumping, uber emotional madness I tell you!!!!

The Smiths on DVD

On to something fun and exciting! Mr and Mrs. Smith comes out on DVD today! This movie was a riot. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fight it out then team up in this action packed comedic film. Highly recommended by those who like a darker comedy, lots of gun play and sexy leading stars.

Leftover Piehole

Mmmm. Thanksgiving was great! Lots of food, some games, a nap and a Turkey samwich! Now that I am all rested and fed I can come back to work and do what I do best...BLOG! Hope you enjoy this little pieceof leftover PieHole!

The following is a communique sent from PieHole to a few family members she thought would care...in italicized blue parenthesis are my comments. No corrections in grammer or spellings have been made besides name alterations to protect the innocent and preserve the integrity (or lack thereof) of the email.

"Hey ,

Well Adeline and I are lucky to be alive.......

I was driving to pick up Sadie and Gem at dance last Tuesday around 5:15...a little dusk and Adeline was in the back seat behind me and 2 deer hit my van. One deer hit the slider and smashed it good (flew over the van and landed dead on theother side of the road)and the other hit the front and took out the front lights..etc...needless to say the airbags came on the deployed.(the airbags either came on or they deployed...notice the duplicity of her personality coming thru...) the passenger side shatter the mirror over the seat all over the car and the other airbag went off so forcefully that it hurt both my arms (awww poor baby) and bruised my stomach(maybe if it didn't stick out so far!!) and caused much wipe lash. (Wipe Lash. Never heard of that. I better look that one up!) Adeline didn't get any mirror slivers but I got some in my hand. (did it cut a major vein?) But I got them out thank god. (God should be capitalized in my opinion. She is an Evil woman!!) When the deers hit they were so large they stopped my car .(Deers...does that mean a plural of a plural? and they HAD to be big to stop large Marge comin' at ya!) and when the airbags deployed the car filled with smoke and I thought the car was on fire so I grabbed Adeline and ran to the side walk. (I highly doubt she ran...) It only happened less than a mile from the house on that long road near the house.(Did this accident happen near her house?)

Tim was getting ready to fly to Atlanta at 7:00 thank god he was home. (again with the God non- capitalization) Adeline 's head was very sore and her neck for 2 days (bad wipe lash for her) (I've got it! I was confusing it with Whiplash!!! Wipe Lash: a condition in which muscles in the arm are pulled from performing a wiping action too quickly) .....but she is better and my arms were really swollen (sorry to break it to ya PieHole, they were "swollen" before the accident!)!)and my body hurt from the airbags deploying they saved me but they are so forceful they really hurt me. (I'd like to be forceful and hurt you...) But I feel better today. But mentally depressed...our car is totaled and the insurance is only giving us 3700.....WE went to look at used vans last night and new ones....that is enough to make someone sick!!!! (You are enough to make me sick you mentally deranged fiend!!!) Everything is so expensive and car dealers...yuck!!!..........WE have a rental car from our insurance but need to get something soon. ( oh and Tim did fly out on time ..I drove him to the airport in the Honda......just Made his flight.....) (I am sure Tim is mentally depressed. If you were working, getting another van would not be a problem!!!)
So xmas will be fun!! (What exactly is xmas!?) ....and limited as we had no car payments since June (if you have had no car payments since June, why would Christmas be limited? You would actually have 5 months of car payments that never left your bank account! Where did all those car payments go? ) ....Honda paid off and the van.......But it gets better (I can't wait to hear this) we just had the van inspected in Sept..we put new tires and new brakes...$830 worth....all to go to the stupid DEERS!!!!! (Awww..it's so terrible, you have a new home, your family is healthy and was not badly injured, Christmas wil be terrible for sure!!!And those damn Deers !!There are so many of them!!!!)
So what is exciting in your life??????........................................................

PieHole"

This is just another example of the crazy that is PieHole. Can you imagine the thoughts that would have been typed if it weren't for those pesky little ............................ all over? Her writing is horrendous, her spelling, grammer and overall knowledge of the english language perplexes me! There is no doubt there is a clinical reason for it. I think this email was written and sent to certain people as a cry for charity and help.

Maybe we all could help. Post your comments on the topic of helping poor PieHole get back on her feet after this terrbile tradgedy.

My Trip to San Francisco Part 2

Where did we leave off? Oh yeah, I had just finished the wine tours. These are not in order of happening, but are little highlights of the trip. Now on to some other pics of our journey!

The "Crooked Street" while coming down it. The most challending pic to take. After this I resorted to hanging out the sunroof!! Not Good!!!

A Wine cellar at Robert Mondavi Vineyard. This place was so neat, barrels upon barrels of the nectar of the Gods!!

In Mark and Cullin's backyard there lives The Tikki God! He is actually a fountain who shoots water from his mouth into the pool. Unfortunately April was still a bit chilly for a swim! Here Carolyn and I decided to strike a pose beside The Tikki God.

The Trolley ride was a highlight for me! Riding along thru Nobb Hill and other areas hanging off the side like the Rice-A-Roni guy...Ding! Ding! What a great way to see the city and the different neighborhoods. This city's culture is amazing!

From lunch on the Sausalito coast of the bay at "Horizons" and Dinner at "Luna Park" in the trendy Mission district, the food was fabulous! Even when we were home in San Ramone, we had our own Chef (My brother Mark) preparing amazing meals for us! It was like staying in a 4 star bed and breakfast!

Our Time in Cali went by too quickly, and we had made some new friends. Snake (the Bulldog)and Nilla (the shar pei mix)were sad to see the girls leave.

A great time was had by all and much ground was covered thanks to Mark! I definately will be out again to visit, hopefully sooner rather than later! I believe a summer trip is in store so I can bath in the healing waters of the Tikki God and the Fountain of Younth! Thanks again for having us out Mark and Cullin! We had a blast!

Happy Turkey Day and Other Silliness

Well, it's the last day of the work-week! I like the idea that Wednesday is Friday this week! I think every week shoud be like that! HAHA Thanksgiving is upon us, a time when we get together with family and PIG OUT!!! I LOVE this Holiday! When else can you eat seconds and thirds at dinner, then two hours later make yourself a Turkey Sandwich? Or, as I like to say, "A Turkey Samich and a drink a' soda". Oh yeah and more pie!!!

My sadness tho this year comes from the fact that we are going to be hit with some serious snow in parts of NY State. Particularly the parts where family is traveling to get to our get-together...Yeah, I am talking about Mike and Kim and the boys. I look forward to spending time with them b/c usually it's difficult to travel up there to see them in the winter. 1-2 feet expected in their neck of the woods so it's not looking good. :( Maybe we will get lucky and there will be a nice weekend between now and Christmas where I can go and visit.

Work is totally going to suck today. Noone really wants to do any work, they are all looking forward to the holiday and I will be stealthily working on all things not work related today. I am not going to lie. That's the cold hard truth. So if you are sitting at work reading my blog today, I give you permission to fluff off and have a little fun today! Go on! Live a little!

Here's a little game to play at your place of emplyment, or even at your holiday festivities. Throw around some words I like to use like "Stealthy","Plethora",
or "Serendipatiousness". (Ok so I am not sure if that last one is really a word, but I've heard little Johnny Cusack use it once...) Use those words (or others you like) in a sentence together for added fun and relate it to the Holiday like this:

"In a moment of SERENDIPATIOUSNESS, I was able to be STEALTHY and eat another helping of the fantastic PLETHORA of food without anyone noticing"

Have some fun and laugh it up (Fuzzball) because a little levity can make your day go by quicker!

In the spirit of the holiday, here's a few things I am thankful for:(besides those pesky basic necessities: like food clothing chelter, heat and DVR):)

1. My family (I don't know what I would do without you all)
2. My friends (especially those of you who live far away and I don't get to see very often but we are still the best of buds)
3. My health (never again will my nickname be Lumpy!)
4. My blog (for givng me the outlet I need to stay (relatively) sane!)

Eat like a Pig, Dance like a Turkey! It's Thanksgiving!!!

Halloween Bash Recap!

Finally I went to Stacy's house and downloaded the pics from her camera from our Halloween Extravaganza!! There's some good pics here I think you will enjoy! I was always in character as a Billy Bob blood vile carrying(it was a red glowstick and soo cool), Elizabteth Hurley accented Devil ala Bedazzled. Carolyn was a Sexy Witch who was very proud of the results of her wonder-bra and Stacy was an Sweet Angel wearing comfy slippers and sparkling jewels (she also had a white glowstick necklace which was sooo cool!). I orchestrated all the outfits since I was the only one that had a costume ready. I think we looked rather fetching...Grab that cup of coffee and enjoy!

The Witch

The Angel

The Devil

Before leaving the house we had to get a picture...I can't believe we took this ourselves and fit us all in!!!

The Witch and The Devil were making plans to dance the night away at the Halloween Bash a the State Fairgrounds!

The Trio at the Bash!

Good or Evil? I think you know what I prefer...

Gettin' a little crazy! I'm the Devil!!

We met up with one of Stacy's friends Erin who was a School Girl.

Something a little Spooky for Carolyn on her Birthday! Is is a host of Ghosts in those orbs? We like to think so!

Next year you are all invited to come party with us! Costumes required as well as dancing shoes! It was a fun night with Carolyn getting married to an Army man with The Devil (me) as Maid of Honor and Chewbacca as Best Man, The Devil being harrassed by a Pirate and escaping, and the attempted abduction of the Devil by a Crime Scene Cleanup Technician! The Devil by the way was rescued by a Franciscan Fryer...wouldn't you have loved to see pictures of all that!!!

Rogue Agents Apprehended

BREAKING NEWS:

This just in: Our Agency is proud to announce the capture of the rogue agents from White Tail. The pictures below show how these turncoats of Operation Bambi were apprehended.

Unfortunately, only one was taken alive.

The Head of Agency Special Ops, Codename "SauceMan", made the following statement:

"We are proud to have brought these two rogue agents to justice. We hope that this will serve as a warning to others who feel they can "play the field". As for our target, PieHole, we will not rest until she is brought down. You can count on the fact that another attempt will be made to put this evil woman in her place. Our operatives are ready, plans are being set in motion, and it shouldn't be long before PieHole is stopped! Thank you for your support of our agency."

After the press conference, SauceMan held a party for all agents involved for their gallant work in this case. The agency took this opportunity to relax and refect before moving on to the next part of their adgenda. Many Manhattans were consumed.

More November Birthdays!

Today is a very special birthday...My Dad! I will not tell you how old he is, just that he is the best Dad in the world and I love him very much! He and Mom are currently out west in San Ramon Ca. visiting Mark and Cullin and taking in an NFL game this weekend with Mike and Jim!! Happy Birthday Dad!

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 19th, my nephew Kevin turns 15! Holy Crapoli Folks! I wonder what he will be doing for his birthday?? A party perhaps? I hope you have a great day Kevin! Happy Birthday!

If Kevin has a party, maybe it would look like this:

Oh and Kevin...I remembered to buy a card for you a few months ago actually, but never put it in the mail, so it will be late, but on it's way never the less!

HAHA! That was fun!

It's FRIDAY!!! Have a great weekend Everyone!!!

Snow Driving in CNY

So today was our first real snowfall here in Syracuse, NY. It wasn't much but we got 2-3 inches and some of the roads were a bit slippery, but nothing that us hardy snowbelters can't handle, right?

Well, not exactly. Every year I am flaberghasted to see how many of my upstate NY comrades forget how to drive in snow conditions. I mean, come on people! Winter lasts here from November thru April practically! After bitching and complaining about a six month winter, how is it that you all forget how it is to drive in it? Short memories here apparently.

They drive too fast, follow too close, slam on their brakes and make movements that are tricky even on dry roads. I had a guy today in a jeep cross over two lanes and miss swipping me by about 1 foot. Luckily I took my foot off the gas to slow up enough so there could be that foot between us! A 4 wheel drive does not a good (or safe)driver make! Like every vehicle, 4WD have their shortcommings too, and black ice or slippery ramps don't discriminate! I wanted to follow him and show him the bat I have in my car WITH HIS NAME ON IT!!

I can handle most any kind of snow and weather. I am a defensive driver b/c I know that the other holes on the road will cause the accident, not me. If you want to be a good driver in any weather, follow my four basic rules:

1. Back off! Don't follow too closely, b/c the jerk in front of you will most definately stop fast and you will be the one at fault.

2. Gentle Persuasion Never slam on the breaks in rain or snow. I usually will let off the gas to slow (if I can) before pumping the breaks gently. Any way I can cut down on slidage is a good thing.

3. Slow Down! Rainy streets can be treacherous too, especially in traffic down steep hills or around tight corners. Snow is worse. Maintaining a safe speed and going with traffic may be annoying, but your risk of causing or having an accident declines immensly when you just cool it and slow it down. I am not saying be a granny, but sometimes you have to. Patience is a virtue, especially when it saves lives.

4. Anticipate! This is the most important thing of all!! Watch the other rejects out there driving with you. Being aware and predicting their speeds and movements will help you negotiate any kind of traffic pattern you come across with ease.

Perhaps I have come across a bit preachy here, but this AM commute really struck a nerve (and it's not even truly winter yet!) Stop driving like idiots and start paying attention! I am not a perfect driver, I like to speed and weave sometimes, but NOT in snowy or rainy conditions. If you live in a snow area, put your thinking cap on, reboot your memory banks or take a moment to switch seasons mentally! If you can't or won't, move away from me or I may have to follow you home and show you the bat I have...with your name on it!!

Johnny Cash Featured in New Advertising Campaign

Johnny Cash may be dead, but he's still raking in the dough in endorsements. With a big screen tale of his life coming out soon, the enigmatic Mr Cash is full of surprises. The following is a sneek peek at the billboard ad and new song that will accompany radio and tv spots nationally.

My Ring of Fire

My ass is a burning thing
and it has a firery ring
like a funeral pyer
My hole is a ring of fire...

My ass became a burning ring of fire
I sat down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
my ring of fire
my ring of fire.

My ass hates the toilet seat
I cringe everytime they meet
And I cry like a child
oh, and the fire went wild.

My ass became a burning ring of fire
I sat down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
my ring of fire
my ring of fire.

Operation: Bambi

Operation: Bambi was an extremely TOP SECRET mission a few weeks ago that went terrribly wrong. Here is a recount and background information recently compiled by our agency.

OPERATION: Bambi
TARGET: PieHole
MISSION STATUS: FAILED

Background:
On October 1st, 2005 a meeting between two of our top agents ("Mamacita" and "Pokahontas") met with members of the underground group "White Tail" in the foothills of the Adirondack Park.

The meeting discussed plans for a takedown of one of the most wanted heavies in the agency's history: "PieHole". The most foul-mouthed, mean and ruthless of all in-laws. The mission was to take place at dusk one evening, with agents from "White Tail" making a surprise attack on the vehicle of PieHole, as if it were an accident.

A few weeks later, the attack was to take place. White Tail agents were in place for the takedown, but something didn't seem right. As the vehicle approached the target area, reconnaissence reported another person could be made out in the back seat. The car was supposed to be empty. Adeline, the youngest of PieHole's Children was in target automobile. The mission needed to be aborted, though to our pleadings, two rogue White Tail agents decided to buck the system and carry out the plan with adjustments of their own. They raced onto the road and into the car: one hitting the side panel the other the front. The car screeched to a halt and the agents ran away and could not be contacted via their comm links. Correspondance between the rogue agents and the Red Squirrels had been uncovered shortly afterwards by our friends at the N.E.G.S.S. Warrants for their capture are in effect.

The vehicle was totaled, and unfortunately, PieHole was unscathed. As a positive, thankfully, Adeline was OK but shaken. In an exit briefing of the mission Mamacita and PirateGirl spoke of their disappointment.

Mamacita:"White Tail has never had difficulties like this in completing a mission. I am concerned that other agencies are at work corrupting our partnership with them. The Red Squirrels are always trying to throw a wrench in the works. Looks like the White Tail members involved were easily lead astray. PieHole has been elusive, but someday we will get her good!!"

Pokahontas: Never trust someone outside of your own agency to get the job done. When Mamacita and I heard the news of the failure we were angry. We spent months planning out our attack. All it took were two loose cannons. This is the last time I work with White Tail that's for sure. This mission sets us all back. Next time, (laughs)and there WILL be a next time, we will do it right!!"

White Tail has issued a comment expressing their deep concern with the interior of their agency:

"White Tail will obviously take the blame for this unfortunate turn of events. The agents who are responsible are being tracked and will be punished. Photographic proof of this will be forwarded to your agency when it is avaiable. We apologize and hope once we resolve our internal problems that we will once again be able to work together to bring down the PieHoles of the world"

More information concerning this case will be shared as it develops.

Whatever Wednesday Returns!!

Back by popular demand, it's...

WHATEVER WEDNESDAY!!!!

Yep here we are, Wednesday again. The weeks seem like a vicious cycle of monotany, interupted but a small bit of fun on the weekends. But on to some entertainment tidbits of the week:

This week in the news it's all about Johnny Cash Walking the Line at the box office and Phoenix's "Ring of Fire" around the Oscars. I say Charlise for Female Drama and Phoenix for Male Drama. My early picks before the noms are even in...you heard I here first. Tho I must say Jarhead might make an appearance tho I am thinking Foxx for supporting...haven't seen it yet, not into war movies, but something makes me want to see that one...maybe it's that filthy Jake Gyllenhall...

Who will be People's Sexiest Man? I vote for Matthew McConaughey, lets hope that Tom Cruise doesn't make the list!!! Vince Vaughn would be a good one. Actually they were going to anounce the winner on the TODAY show but after I left for work (of course) Let me check and see who got it!

And the winner is:

MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY !!!!!

Others on the list of note are Patrick Dempsy (what a comeback!), Viggo Mortensen (that's my Viggo!!) Vince Vaughn (Phenomenal!!) Heath Ledger (I am not as big of a fan anymore but he's still a hottie) Keith Urban (I'd listen to country music just to look at him!) Matt Damon (he's so cute), Denis Leary (um funny but not so sexy I 'm thinkin')

Speaking of Hollywood and Power, here's a delightful little quiz to help you with your Wednesday morning procrastinating...

Your Power Color Is Gold

At Your Highest:

You are engrossed in passions that mentally stimulate you.

At Your Lowest:

You seek thrills and neglect what's important in your life.

In Love:

You see dating as adventure and approach it with an open attitude.

How You're Attractive:

You passion for life makes others passionate about you.

Your Eternal Question:

"Am I Having Fun?"

Am I having fun? There are different types of fun one could have. I have very little at work. A bit more at home in the evenings watching the Days rerun on the Soap Channel and making fun of John (That's a Fact) Black. Picture Mystery Science Theater 3000 with Soap Operas!! It's a riot! I have some fun when I go out on the weekends, but that is getting old. I need something new, something different. Vegas anyone?????

Seriously tho, I am sitting here wondering how the heck I got up this am and did a Billy Blanks Thai Bo tape! It was actually good, got to work a bit earlier than usual, felt a bit energized, but now after my oatmeal and first cup of coffee, I could take a nap.

At least I am getting back in to some sort of exercise. I have been lazy since May when I got done with Kickboxing. Why did they have to raise the price 30%??? I loved it and was kicking butt!! In the last two months I have started to lose that muscle tone and gain a few pounds so I needed to do something. I came to the realization that sitting on the couch watching Buffy and Faith kick butt was not keeping me in shape!! HAHAH! Vicarious exercise?? I feel so much better once I have a workout routine so hopefully this will stick!

I sent out a few blind resumes yesterday via email. One for a museum here in Syracuse I am very interested in and the other was The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hey, I know I have no chance there, but I thought I would at least send in my resume. I have only been there once but cannot stop thinking of that place. I dragged poor Ariane around for over two hours in the Ancient Egyptian rooms (she's such a good sport!) We saw a neat retrospective of Jackie O's clothing and bits and pieces of Midieval Armor and weaponry, but that was only such a small portion of this magnificent museum. I must go back, but it will be difficult for me to ignore Ancient Egypt and see the rest!! I had nothing to lose by sending it in. I don't expect anything to come from it, but I had to do it. Look at me getting all pro-active!!

So there are some random thoughts for your Whatever Wednesday! Have a great one!

A Birthday for Butler

Gerard Butler, otherwise known as Gerry, has been one of my favorite actors since his portrayal of Attila in the 2001 USA network's telling of the tyranical ruler's life. I thought I would share a bit of his filmography in celebration of his birthday yesterday, November 13th. He's also a scorpio!!!

Firstly Dracula 2000: made ironically in 2000, Gerry plays Dracula. This story is an interesting modern twist on the age old blood sucker legend.

Then there was Attila in 2001. The USA Network did a miniseries which was really good. Thank goodness they even put miniseries on DVD now!!
Above, Attila at his wedding celebration. Below, Attila dressed in Roman attire. You know what they say, "When In Rome".

Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life: 2003. Starring opposite one of my favorite actresses Angelina Jolie, Gerry played sly Terry Sheridan and brought Lara to the Shay Ling...The Shay who?

Above: Admiring the Orb. Below before boarding a helicopter with Lara.

Next he portrayed Ander Merek in the (unfortunately less than worthy)film adaptation of one of my most favorite books by Michael Crichton : Timeline!

How much more perfect a role could he have played?...handsome Archaeologist travels back in time to meet his true love...*sigh* Here is a pic of Merek in 14th century France:

In 2004, Gerry took ono the role of the Phantom and did an amazing job with every aspect. Too bad he had to wear a mask the entire time!!!

Gerrard has been in quite a few movies, but is not as well known as most movie stars you think of. The following is a short list of his movies I have not seen and would like to see.

Reign of Fire A brood of fire-breathing dragons emerges from the earth and begins setting fire to everything, establishing dominance over the planet. Starring Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale. 2002

Dear FrankieAfter having responded to her son's numerous letters in the guise of his father, a woman hires a stranger (Gerard Butler) to pose as his dad when meeting him. 2004

Beowulf & Grendel Adapted from the Anglo-Saxon epic poem, Beowulf, BEOWULF & GRENDEL is a medieval adventure that tells the blood-soaked tale of a Norse warrior's battle against the great and murderous troll, Grendel. Gerry portrays the lead role of Beowulf. In theaters 2005, but nowhere near me apparently!!!

Frank Miller's 300B ased on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" concerns the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta (Butler)led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world's first democracy. In Theaters 2006

Two lesser known and harder to find movies of Gerry's are: The Tale of the Mummy:1998 and The Jewel of the Sahara 2001. I think everyone can see why I would want to see these besides the fact that Gerry is in them! Good subject matter! One career move that would benefit him greatly is if he played the role of my boyfriend in real life! Just a (psychotic) suggestion! ;) tee-hee.

So that's Gerry Butler! Great actor and not to bad to look at. Hopefully you will all get a chance to see some of his movies if you haven't already!

Something Funny for Friday

A final thought for Friday:

The Best of Jimmy Fallon was given to me as a Birthday gift this year based on the fact that the skit I am obsessed with was on it. If anyone has ever seen the "Barry Gibb Talk Show" skit, I need not say another word.

Rent it, buy it, borrow it from me, just watch it and laugh 'til your stomache hurts!!

"Talkin' it out, on the Barry Gibb Talk Show! Talkin' 'bout chest hair, talkin' 'bout crazy cool medallions"

LIVE FROM THE 'CUSE! IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT!!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Fabulous Friday and Personality Conflicts

Well, it's Friday! Thank goodness for Friday!! I mean seriously, this week was the slowest most boring week on record here in Carolville...I need some excitement! Some spontaneity!! Actually, I am looking forward to a weekend all by me onsies. Carolyn, my roomate, has a wedding to attend so I will have full run of the place from Sat am until Sunday early afternoon. No offense, it's just nice to have some quiet time to yourself once in awhile. Not that I have any spectacular plans..cleaning, classwork and maybe a Buffy-athon (I am experiencing MAJOR withdrawel symtoms). I may head to the mall to shop for Dad's upcomnig B-day and window shop for myself.

OK, OK, I know what you are thinking...I need a man...TELL ME ABOUT IT!! Not having much luck lately so if you can find one with all of his teeth, an education and a decent steady job I'll forever be in your debt!! Oh and actually, up that order to two guys b/c Carolyn would like one as well!! Carolyn is getting some quiet time of her own today b/c she is off for Veterans Day. Yeah, I am trying not to think about the fact that she has today off and I am here at work. Reason #742 for being a teacher! Just kidding!

Anywho, I had begun writing the following yesterday for "Thursday Thoughts" but never got a chance to post it.

PERSONALITY CONFLICTS:

We have all had the experience of working with someone who for some unknown reason we just don't click with. They seem nice enough, but they just rub you the wrong way. I am not talking about the obnoxious person who lets you know they don't like you, or the creepy guy who leers at you when you walk by. I am talking about someone who, tho you can't put your finger on it, you just want to rip their head off and flush it down the toilet...OK sorry, let's get to the persons I am speaking of...yes there are more than one!

THE PSYCHO WITCH
The first is a woman we will call LD. She has got to be the most obnoxious, two faced, lazy, lying bag of bones! She spends her time on personal calls, shopping online and still enlists others to help with her workload!! She should take some notes from me: I get my own work done, ask for more work and do extra, and always have time to blog and email throughout the day. She is selfish and hypocritical. She definately has some screws loose (maybe all of them). My first month here I witnessed her having a freakout/breakdown in the middle of the office! Once I moved to the President's Assistant job(yippee)they moved my desk and I no longer sit in the cubical next to her. On the Friday before my birthday, people here at work brought in food and cards and some presents for me... So nice and unexpected! LD went into a tyrade about what happened to her the night before and how her back aches and her daughter is upset about her Dad getting remarried and how she cried all night etc.Apparently she was craving attention but I don't care if she has a pain in the ass or her daughter is 24 and can't move on etc!! It's my BIRTHDAY!! It's a HAPPY DAY!! and I don't want to hear all of her whining!!! She goes to a different DR every week. One day she has a mammogram (which I swear she did 3 months ago then a bone density test and blood work...Why doesn't she have a head test while she's at it!!??? I have never seen anyone have so many Dr appts! She is also the bigmouth of the office and will spew whatever she hears...this however is quite fun at times when I purposefully tell her tidbits and see where the trail leads. (insert maniacal laugh here):)

OK I think I covered everything there. Let's move on to the one I really can't stand. LD is fun to make fun of and I can at least get along with her during the day.

THE KNOW-IT-ALL
Then there is EB, saunters aroundlike she owns the place, noses around to see waht you have for lunch and if you try to be nice and have a conversation it her, she cuts you off and talks over you. She's a know-it all. She trained me on the phones and she has the personality of a toenail clipping. If you smile and say hello she will ignore you, because she is EB, and she will never lower herself and speak to you! Now it's time for me to boost my own ego at her expense: She actually did the voiceover for the phone system before I began working here and she had to constantly redo them and she kept messing up. It took her over an hour to do it. It took me about 35 minutes! She is in her 40's and not a pretty woman so why the attitude? I do not know, but I would love to bludgeon her about the head and shoulders...ok not literally, but you can feel the intensity of my dislike with that phrasing. I just can't stand that self-righteous 'tude. Just looking at her makes my blood boil.

MISS NOSEY
Ok there is another one who is just a busybody. We will call her KD. She is in accounting and has a very wacky sense of humor. So out there in fact that even I don't get what her deal is, she just seems fit for a straightjacket sometimes! I was walking down the hallway with some paperwork for the President one day when KD passes me by. Being too stupid to be stealthy about it, KD walks past me and as she cranes her neck obviously she tries to read my documents!! Hello? NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!! Then she tries to out-stealth me (which is hard to do, mind you) byt asking me questions about different employees for attendance purposes...to which I respond "gee, I'm not sure KD!" (insert innocent face) I would love to hang her by her nose blindfolded! She is just annoying!!!

I know all of us can relate (especially Beth because she works here too) Hence, this post! Have a story from a annoying coworker you'd like to share? Post it in the comments!!

My Trip To San Francisco Part 1

Back in April of 2005, I traveled to visit my brother Mark and his wife Cullin. My friend Carolyn came with me and we had an awesome time!! The "Death March" from the Pier and Fisherman's Warf to The Mission District, a trolley ride, and off to Napa for some wine tours, we saw it all! The following are some pictures we took on our trip...finally!!! Enjoy!

We begin with a picture from Muir Woods State Park. This palce was amazing, redwood trees everywhere, I felt as tho I had walked into the realm of Lothlorian. There were trails and paths that lead in deeper and I would like to spend more time there next time I visit.

Driving over the Bay bridge into the city gave me a chance to take a few pics of San Fran. This one came out best.

The Golden Gate Bridge from that famous vantage point we all see in movies. Amazing view, amazing bridge!

Ahhhh...Coit Tower. This was an interesting site on Telegraph Hill. "The Coit Tower was built in 1933 with funds from Lillie Hitchcock Coit. She was an eccentric personality who was best known for her support of the local firemen. After she died, she left one third of her fortune for the beautification of the city. The result was the Coit Tower, which is both a memorial for Lillie Hitchcock Coit and for the San Francisco firemen." (exerpt taken from aviewoncities.com/sf/coittower.htm) Perfect! Firemen!!! 'Cause we're hot!
There are murals painted on the ground floor that were really interesting."It is a matter of historical record that the Coit Tower art project was the prototype for the decade of the New Deal art that followed, 1933-43, halted finally by World War II. Utilizing carefully selected artistic talent, the project provided an iconography of the "American Scene" for the largest of all the art programs at that time, the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project...The themes of agriculture, education, urban and rural life, social protest, and New Deal Idealism established at Coit Tower were to become the subsequent subjects of those same artists and of others who took up paintbrushes and sculptors' tools under further government-sponsored art programs throughout the nation." (taken from coittower.org) I wonder what it is like in ahhh...summertime...

A view from Coit Tower of the city. If you look carefully you can just make out the "Crooked Street" in the upper center of the pic.

This picture was also taken from Coit Tower as the sun set. I took 90% of the pics on this trip and I am very proud of this picture in particular.

Vines with stones marking the type of grape at Mondavi Vineyard in Napa Valley. We visited two other wineries (Beaulieu Vineyard, and Sequoia Grove)for tasting and Mondavi for a tour and tasting. My first ever! How cool that it was in Napa!

The Statue outside Mondavi Vineyard. I thought the gold accents were beautiful! It is Saint Francis if I remember correctly.

Well, I have more pics but thought I would save them for Part 2. Hope you enjoyed a small glimpse at my trip! Tune in soon for more!
