Lyrics Quiz: Name that Song!

Well, it's not really a quiz, I was just thinking of certain lyrics that get caught in my head from time to time and decide to add some others that you might know. However, if you can tell me the name of the band or the song, I will send you goodies!

"Natural reflex
Pendulum swing
You might be too dizzy
To do the right thing"

"You'll remember me
when the west wind moves
upon the fields of barely..."

"'Seems that I was busy doing something close 2 nothing
But different than the day before
Thats when I saw her, ooh, I saw her
She walked in through the out door, out door"

"In the mornin you go gunnin
For the man who stole your water
And you fire till he is done in
But they catch you at the border
And the mourners are all singin
As they drag you by your feet
But the hangman isnt hangin
And they put you on the street"

"Tell me baby
what's your story?
where you come from
and where you want to go this time?"

"suddenly!
a movement in the corner of the room!
and there is nothing i can do
when i realize with fright
that the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!"

"Over the times we've shared
it's all blackened out
And my bat lightning heart
wants to fly away"

"You should have seen that sunrise with your own eyes
it brought me back to life
You'll be with me next time I go outside
NO more 3x5's"

"The sky turned to black
Would he ever come back
They would climb a high dune
They would pray to the moon
But hed never return
So the sisters would burn
As their eyes searched the land
With their cups still full of sand"

"IT WAS AN EARLY MORNING YESTERDAY
I WAS UP BEFORE THE DAWN
AND I REALLY HAVE ENJOYED MY STAY
BUT I MUST BE MOVING ON"

Ha! That was fun and sort of strange. I hope you enjoy the crazy!

Happy Halloween!

Quickie

Just a few quickies to get thru this lovely Monday! Swamped and trying to kick some ass this week here at work since last week I was a basket case. The weekend was relaxing and an EYE OPENER: Literally:

My Eyes are all better, my last day of REAL antibiotics and they look back to normal! Yippee!!! I did wear a bit of makeup Saturday night when I went to the halloween party and a bit today. I feel human again finally!

I realized I neglected another great show that I enjoy watching on NBC called "CHUCK". "Chuck Bartowski -- a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent." It really pretty funny, and I hope they will continually move forward b/c I think they have a chance of getting bogged down a bit and stalling.

I also watched "V for Vendetta" this weekend. I DVRd it off HBO and HOLY CRAP! What an interesting story, and what an interesting movie! I know it was based on a comic, but seriously, this movie kept my interest, made me mad and moved me all at once. Sure I took offense to certain parts, butI understood what they were saying and "got it". Very interesting, I would definately watch it again. I love a movie that makes you think!

Oh and just another movie that uses my birthday: November 5th! But more on that next week!

Ramblings

It's Friday. I am on new drops now or as my Eye Dr. says "compared to the other drops this is like a nuclear explosion!" Apparently many times more powerful as the ones my GP gave! (which was why I was getting better one day and then no change for two etc etc, etc!) I am so glad I went to the eye Dr and wished I had done it sooner! And yes Henlib, I have been washign everything and disinfectiong everything like sunglasses and every surface I touch like light switches, doorknobs, car steering wheel, radio and door handles...EVERYTHING!!! My eyes are feeling better, tho still a bit blood shot...but that could be because I have been very emotional the last two days so crying isn't helping.

My job is becoming extrememly stressful, my personal life has been peppered with shit I just don't need to deal with EVER and with the eye thing, it has just been a two week crazy spree. I can't even get into detail but I think I am on the edge of losing it completely. I never do when I get into these moods, but I am just a wreck this week and this is the worst one in a while. Unfortunately it is one of those deals where I brought it on myself and must now bear it.

I am bringing some work home and I did get a lot accomplished today, but I need time to decompress. Two friends are coming over to have Horror Movie night tonight. I figured that would be perfect seeing as tho people getting hacked to death puts my problems in perspective very quickly at least for an evening.

Tomorrow I am invited to a Halloween party. My guess is I will drink heavier than usual (the usual being 2 drinks, yea I'm a lush I know) and hope that Beth will want to drive so I can drown my issues for a few hours. Yeah, an immature way to tackle a problem, but I think it will work nicely for me this time.

Everyone has hard times, and everyone needs to deal with things, so I am no different. Just had to vent, tho vague as it was, so I can come back in 6 months and see how whiny, overthought and ridiculous it all was...

ANWHO: Enjoy a SPooktacular weekend boys and Ghouls. I mean it, I plan to! Perhaps I will have some Halloween Party Pics to post next week if any are taken , cause God knows I don't own a camera of my own!:)And that is most ridiculous of all!

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street!!!

Finally! I have been waiting over a year for a peek since I had heard it was in the works! Besides that fact that Tim Burton seems to always cast his wife (Bonheim-Carter) and that Depp has been cast in quite a few as well, this looks Awesome. Who better to bring this dark tale to the screen than Burton. This musical is one of my favorites. I remember stumbling upon it when I was younger and and being mesmorized by the plot. I have seen it a few times since then and it gets better every time I see it.

Altho I have heard this will be limited release (ARG!), this is definitely my "High Anticipation Movie" of the year!!!

IN OTHER NEWS:

My Mom called me this morning and told me she made me an appointment with my eye Dr. back home. I had been on the phone explaining to her that the pink eye is still hanging on, and I was worried, so she called the Dr. and set me up with an appointment for Thursday at 1:30pm (tomorrow) and then called me to tell me when it was. Luckily for me, unbeknownst to Mom who made the appointment, Thursday afternoon is meeting free and the Dr. has room to squeeze me in! Thank GOD for my Mom! As an RN, she echoed my sentiment that more needed to be done. So, I will pack an overnight bag and head home for my appointment tomorrow afternoon and drive in to work from there on Friday morning.

Work has been crazy and with my copywriter flying in today (and out tomorrow afternoon) for a meeting with our designer and catalog group, the week is just been hectic beyond belief. Between eye drops, meetings and Dr. Appointments I am about ready to scream. Amid the confusion, I am still organized and ready for whatever, I just wish I could do it with healthy non-red eyes!

I don't look so bad without make-up. I am not like a Pam Anderson who looks compeltely different, but even a little make-up makes a girl feel good. I need to go and buy all new, and hopefully by Saturday I will be able to complete my costume for the Halloween Party with a little make-up!

"Moonlight", Fridays at 9pm, CBS

OK, so it's a show about a vampire in LA who is a detective...cliche' I know. The show isn't very good, I don't like either of the female leads, and the acting is sub-par, but I have to be honest here: The lead actor is HOT. See exhibit A:

Australian Actor Alex O’Loughlin (Kinda looks a bit Gerry Butler...I'm Shocked!)

Not that I don't have enough to watch, he's just too darn easy on the eyes... Apparently he is big in Australia for romantic dramas. Yep. I shoulda been a casting director.

"Reaper", Tuesdays at 9pm, CW Network

Quick Synopsis from IMDB: "On his 21st birthday, Sam discovers his parents sold his soul to the devil before birth and he must now be a bounty hunter for the devil until he dies."

Have you ever seen "Shawn of the Dead"? Well, this sort of reminded me of a tv version of that in many ways. I highly recommend you see that movie if you haven't. Who said Horror and Comedy couldn't play nice?

It's supernatural, the Devil, regular Joe's saving the world typical CW/WB network stuff, but really funny. In one of the first episodes Sam opens up the "vessel", the thing that he must catch the evil spirit in to send it back to hell, it's different each week). the vessel happens to be: A dirt devil dust buster! Come On! That is funny in a corny, obvious way and I love it!

OK, bear with me here guys...I know it sounds rediculous. It is. Kevin Smith is involved, so that's par for the course. It's well written, and even tho it's similar to many shows out there in theme, it stands out. Check it out if you can.

Left to right: Every show needs a love interest, Sam our main character, The chubby and hysterically funny friend/co-worker (who steals the scenes constantly) and The Devil (leaning).

Review up Next: "Moonlight" It's a vampire show. (Shocking, I know)

Gosh, all the shows I watch are either supernatural, or about dead people...(these plus Smallville and CSI VEGAS) but they all have great senses of humor!!

Happy Friday!!!

Pushing Daisies, Wednesday Nights, 8pm, ABC

Finaly got to watch this show. Jen and Christine were right. I LOVED IT. And not just because the place of business for the main character is a pie shop called "The Pie Hole".

As I watched, the familiarity of some actors as well as the filming and color pallet/style was apparent. Ever heard of Wonderfalls? Yea, that show I was obsessed with a while back? Well, this is from the same mind. Bryan Fuller is the creator and was executive producer on many Wonderfalls eps. I love when style is so apparent that you can peg other projects. This show, like Wonderfalls, has a tinge of darkness ala Twin Peaks, but with a brighter color pallet to play with in sets and costumes.

The main character was in Wonderfalls, and there are lots of memorable faces in the cast: Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenowith of Broadway fame and Anna Friel who played Gerry Butler's love interest, Lady Claire, in Timeline!

Witty dialog sprinkled into fast paced scenes with great wardrobes that are to die for (no pun intended) means I was instantly hooked even tho I came in on Episode 3. I highly recommend it, (especially you Tabbi!) and hope to post more about this show in the future.

Review Next Up: "REAPER"

and no, I am not obsessed with death...primetime tv is!!!

We Interupt This Blog...

The Red Hot Chili Peppers say:

"Hold up. Stop. CC is taking a break from the blog for today due to PINK EYE. Yea, unfortunately our brown eyed girl has got "the goup". Where the hell did she pick that shit up anyway? Look at those crazy eyes on Flea, he's a little freaked out because it's so CONTAGIOUS! Of course, Flea always has crazy eyes and Hey-Oh, we know she'll be fine 'cause she is home with some prescription eye drops and listening to us!!"

Do Wop Monday!!!

Not at work today. Had a Dr. Appt this morning, everything is good so far...yeah I know TMI~. Over the weekend I did have something weird happen. My left eye got all swollen and was sore and itchy. It doesn't seem like conjunctivitis, but I stayed home this afternoon anyway since I already had a 1/2 day for my other appointment. I didn't want to spread it if it's contagious and I feel like crap with it anyway. I have been doing the eye wash thing and I took some benedryl in case it is allergies... This sucks. I guess I really do need a eye patch or something! "MY EYE!"

Now for something more interesting than my health! I've got the puppet bug from that Harry Potter skit I posted earlier last week, so I decided to search for my favorite Sesame Street skit: "Do Wop Hop!". Jim Henson was a genius! He always knew that dancing and singing is what puppets do best! I've known it since I had my puppet theater long ago, and this little skit (along with Muppet Movies and The Muppet Show of course!) definitely had a huge impact on me. How fun is this song???

I love the part where they just start throwing the puppets into the air...God that makes me laugh so hard still!!!

ANYWHO:
Keeping with the puppet theme: I have to say that while definitely not for the kiddies, "Team America: World Police" was great. The puppetry was AMAZING and it was FREAKING HYSTERICAL! Thanks to Tabbi for letting me borrow it. It was a riot!

An interesting fact is that RUSH included an instrumental piece on their latest album Snakes and Arrows entitled "Malignant Narcissism" that they had written because of the movie. The line is actually embedded in the song at one point: "Usually a case of malignant narcissism is brought on during childhood".

Connections like this (that I was not aware of) are popping up everywhere lately for me!! But that might be another post...

Kim mentioned that a puppet movie should be next in line for our pet film projects. I say "Let's do it!". Don't worry, we won't have any ancient druidesque societies, French Knights or petrified feces in our puppet film. Unless...

Dream Dictionary and Music Potions

I have this dream dictionary, and as corny as it sounds I do check it quite often. My dreams are very vivid and I tend to remember them in great detail. Since this is the dream book that predicted my medical situation which ended in surgery 5 years ago, I tend to take take notice of the meanings, especailly repetitive symbols. Lately, the dream dictionary keeps telling me I am going to get news from a distance. I have had three dreams this week, all different but with the same symbols in them that translate into contact/messages from a distance. I have a few friends I haven't heard from in a bit, so it would be nice to hear from them. (*hint *hint*)

Lily Allen Song Break:

"Oh yeah, I'm fine,
Everything's just wonderful,
I'm having the time of my life.

Don't you want something else,
Something new, than what we've got here,
And don't you feel it's all the same,
Some sick game and it's not insincere,
I wish I could change the ways of the world,
Make it a nice place
Until that day, I guess we stay,
Doing what we do
Screwing who we screw"

I have to say, I am wicked busy here at work, but I always find time to blog somehow. Keeps me (relatively) sane. And so does my music. Right now I have a crazy mix of RHCP, Jane's Addiction, Bjork, Bat for Lashes, Harry Connick Jr., RUSH, Supertramp, Prince, Lily Allen, and Sting. Yikes! I LOVE IT! I enjoy mixin' up a little potion of my own. It's amazing the similarities and threads that link them together. Music comes first for me, then lyrics, but today I definately have lyrics in my head that I think are great: Hence the Song Breaks.

Jane's Addiction Song Break:

"If I were you
I'd better watch out
When was the last time
you did anything?
Not for me
or anyone else
Just because
Just because

Hey! You really should have known
Yeah You, You really should have known
Just because
Just because

You got the most
but nobody loves you
nobody has to
Just because"

I am heading home to see the parents and get my car worked on this weekend, so the quiet of a laid back weekend is greatly anticipated. I haven't been home in over a month and a half. When was the last time I was home? (Oh yea, Hmmmm...) Anywho, I am looking forward to spending some time, taking some walks and "eatin' good in the neighborhood" as my Dad likes to say!

Have a wonderful weekend, and listen to some good music!!!

Monday Madness...and Sundry Silly Things

The movie quiz is being extended because Chantal is the only one who entered. :( I know, I can't complain really, I haven't participated in some contests, so I know how it is. :) I am extending it until , let's say, Wednesday. Email your answers to me at cclifeblog@hotmail.com!

The weekend was fun but hectic. My niece Alysa came for a visit and we went out to dinner, watched a movie and then went for lunch downtown and saw soem ofthe shops. It was a beautiful day Saturday so we ate outside. Then I had to take my Anchovy back to my sister's. I stayed for pizza and hung out to visit for a while then headed back to my place. I did get to sleep in Sunday , but then I had to work at the library. When I got home I worked on organizing some more things at the apartment. Next up on the agenda: getting some stuff up on the walls! I felt like the weekend went by so fast, that I should have today off to just chill. But alas, my company does not believe in Columbus and hence we do not get this day off...tho everyone else in the free world does! That's OK , it will be a quiet, "get my shit together" kind of day!

Thanks to Alysa I will be posting some You Tube videos for your enjoyment and wonder this week: Like this one:

One of my favorites! And puppets of course! Does anyone remember my puppet theater? (I am sure Lamby remembers building it and sewing the curtains for it!)That was one of my favorite Christmas presents when I was little. Mom and Dad still have it! I remember doing music videos and writing plays...but that is another story!

Stay tuned for more all this week! (oh, and make sure you take a stab at the movie quiz from Thursday!!!)

Thoughts of a Random Nature

This week:

  • The new woman who is taking over for my original Admin. Assistant position MUST GO! She is pushy, annoying and a "know it all". When you start a new position, you should listen twice as much as you speak, after all, it's a new company and you need to learn how their procedures work. You don't interupt or push into conversations that you have no clue about or do not need to know about, especially if it's your boss or the V.P.! When the receptionist is training you, pay attention, she's not making you do it that way to fuck with you, that's how it's supposed to be done!!! Oh and my name is not "Hon" or "Girlfriend". I would prefer Attila if you must, and who calls people "Girlfriend"???. I could go on and on...but I will stop here.
  • Someone brought food in for a birthday today and all I can think of as I smell it cooking in the crock pot is "cat food". You know the moist canned food smell? Yeah, that's appetizing.
  • It's Sam's Birthday tomorrow. I made him a card with a RUSH Theme since he hasn't stopped busting my chops aout that concert yet. It's OOK Sam...Geddy still loves you anyway!
  • OOH! My Niece Alysa is coming to visit tonight from college. I am very excited for her to see my new apartment and hang out. We haven't had an overnight in a LONG time. I am really looking forward to it.
  • One of my guy friends here has become soooo annoying. He is too clingy and demanding of my time which REALLY makes me mad...That usually spells the end of the "friendship" for me when people don't realize their boundaries and cross them. Why is it that the ones you don't want, want you and the the ones you do want don't seem to give you enough attention?
  • Anchovy slept on my lap all thru CSI last night. She loves to cuddle and sleep on my lap. She was all stretched out and so stinkin' cute! I am going to have to visit her often at my sister's house, 'cause I love that little poopy-kitten and I am gonna miss her.
  • So I got Cable finally last night! Yeah, he made it just in time for Smallville, would have been earlier if he would stop hitting on me...Yeah, not kidding! Anywho, damn that Lana...she's still alive and almost shot my Lex Luthor! I love it 'cause he's all good and repenty now, which means he will eventually begin to turn all evil again. *sigh* I love Lex Luthor.
  • Repenty...that sounds like a Buffy word. Before I got the cable, I watched the Buffy. Buffy Season 4 funny. Want to do entire post on Season 4 quotes like: "Beer Bad. Fire Pretty."

CC's Good Karma Deed of the Day: If I am thinking about someone: family member, friend, or whatever, I contact them and let them know. Just a "hi" will suffice, in whatever form of communication I choose, just so they know I am alive and kicking. It takes only a moment, and boy will they be happy you did. So spread the happy!!!

The Kittie Saga

THE SCOOP:
I am a bit embarrassed by the recent happenings, but I will post it for all.

BACKSTORY:
My sister Kathy is the director of a human society and had fostered 3 kittens who didn't have a momma and were bottle fed at first. The two brothers were adopted out together and the sister would be next. Once I decided I was getting my own apartment Kathy asked if I wanted to take the little black tiger kitty. I thought about it and decided that I would love to have a little partner in crime at my apartment! So last friday I picked her up and brought her to my place.

Checking out Evan's puppy toys.

Sleeping on CC's lap on the couch with Evan.

She seemed to adjust really well and things were going great. I decided not to tell the complex I had the kittie until Monday b/c it was the 1st of the month. I was aware that there was a monthly fee added to my rent and also a deposit, so monday I contact the complex and asked them to draw up a pet lease etc and that I would pick up the kitten that week (obviously she had been at my place since Friday, but they didn't need to know that!) When they told me that b/c of the new management the pricing had gone up I braced myself but didn't think it had gone up so astronomically! I won't get into details here, but let's just say the fees and deposit almost doubled!!! I thought about it and decided unfortunately this was NOT going to work. I was sad and annoyed.

I called my sister and explained and she was actually very understanding. I can't help that policies changed with the new management obviously, and she said to bring the kittie back to her and she could live with them as she had been for the first 4 months of her life. I was relieved and so happy to hear Kathy would take her and keep her. Now I can go see her anytime, and if the chance comes along, she said I could have her back. It's sort of a catch 22 really, b/c I will miss her, but I think it is best for all involved, especially the kittie. She will not be so lonely and will have her friends to play with again too(3 cats and 2 dogs!) at Kathy's house.
Aww, look at hers sleepin! Evan's visit tired her right out!

ANYWAY, I will take her back this Saturday, and I am already on the calendar to overnight dog/cat sit in a few weeks so that will be fun. I am just disappointed it worked out this way. I know I will miss her when she is gone, but so glad I can still see her.

ORIGIN OF A NAME:
In the time she lived with Kathy before I got her, my sister began calling her Anchovy b/c she tried to steal an anchovy she was eating. Me, wanting to name my own kitty, decided if that name were to stick, I better tweak it to reflect my sense of humor. Thus I added a name to the end and came up with Anchovy Jolie! I have gotten a lot of great responses for that. Pretty clever huh? DId I ever tell you I had a grey floppy eared rabbit when I was little and I named him Dustin Hoppman? yeah, are you sensing a pattern?
Lamby and CC with Anchovy Jolie. Pretty Kittie, glad she is still in the family!

Sometimes these things are too darn accurate!

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Have you been indulging in too many goodies, dear Scorpio? You might feel somewhat under the weather today because of all this abundance. Therefore you probably should take it easy. Take advantage of your mood to think about re-organizing your priorities. Is a second piece of chocolate cake more important than your energy and health? Indulging can be important to our psychological sense of self-care, but don't forget about moderation-and don't forget that there are many other ways in which you can indulge yourself...

BTW, it wasn't chocolate cake...it was crazy apple pie!!!!:)

Kittie pics tomorrow I hope y'all!
