Happy Belated Birthday Nate!

Ok, so I didn't know that it was Nate's Birthday! on Friday October 21st! So I am making up with a silly little Birthday Post today!

WHOOPITY-DOOO!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

Even tho I wasn't there to celebrate, I thought I would Dr. up a pic for your enjoyment!!!

Hope you had a great Birthday!

Post a comment to wish Nate a Happy Birthday!!!

Halloween Fun!

Tho most of my Halloween fun happened over the weekend, I can't ignore the fact that today is actually Halloween!

By the way, remember that spyware apple on my desk from last week? I ate it. To my surprise, no camera was found housed in the apple. I bet they took it out after they realized I had found them out!!!! HAHAHAH!

So it's Halloween!!! I am pretty much tapped out from the crazy birthday weekend!! (pics to follow sometime later this week!) Fun time, but exhausted! Party all night sleep all day...I feel like I should be home sleeping all day, the sun is very bright and I am wearing the Snake Pants in honor of the day! So now I thought it would be fun to post some pics of Vampires since I feel like one today...

Ahhh, Marius (Vincent Perez) and Lestat (Stewart Townsend) in Queen of the Damned

Gerry Butler as Dracula in Dracula 2000

The talented Gary Oldman as Dracula.

Oh Bloody Hell! How could I leave out Spike? He's the bad boy that's dying to be good or vice versa!

There are also some other bad boys I should include:

Stewart Townsend as "Dorian Gray" in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Not a vampire, but immortal just the same.

Arnold Vosloo as "The Mummy", Hey, at least he had a good reason for bringing the 10 plagues of Egypt! His true love Anksunamun...

Brandon Lee as "The Crow", not necessarily a bad boy, just setting things right and looking bad ass doing it!

Hope you have a great Halloween!

(insert maniacal laugh here)

Friday Freakout!!

Ahhh, Friday! Whether you have big plans for the weekend or no plans, it's good to be Friday!

Most people know that I am a huge movie music junkie. I love soundtracks: Rock or orchestrated and have a descent collection. I also feel that music can be cut into categories based on the seasons. Weird right? My favorite artist, however, I can listen to all the time no matter the season. Yep, That's Sting! If I ruled the world I would have a radio station and a tv station that played "All Sting, All the Time!" But seriously, I like a lot of different styles of music, so I think I am pretty eclectic that way. I can go from Mazart to Moby in 2.5 seconds! So I found this test on music tastes and come to find out, Nicole Kidman and I share the same ...right...Who do you match?

Your Musical Tastes Match: Nicole Kidman

See her whole playlist here (iTunes required)

Speaking of the weekend, I found this quiz on "What drink are you?". I am very happy with my result b/c Margaritas are my favorite! Yumm!! What drink are you?

You Are a Margarita

You aren't just the life of the party, you are the party!
You mix a good drink, bust out some great music, and know how to get down.

Ok, so this blog is pretty Blaahhh today. My energy level is such that I am conserving for my weekend. Sorry that I have resorted to blogging about silly quizzes etc! Admit, you liked them!!!

Went shopping for last minute pieces to our costumes last night. I love those Halloween stores! They had a lifesize talking Freddie Kruger!!! And for my brother Mike, a 3 foot tall crazy clown doll complete with bloody knife in his hand!! It creeped me out!! If I had a ton of money and a warehouse, I would have the most kick-ass Halloween party EVER!! I have always wanted to have a mascarade too. Maybe someday! My brother Mark gets all psyched about Halloween too. Maybe one year we should pool our resources! How fun would that be??!!

I actually had a little boy (about 12 oe so)come up to me with a scorpion (fake obviously) and being an obnoxious little runt pretended to sting me with it. I gave him an unimpressed look and with my evil voice I said "Ahh, a scorpion. He bit me, but I am immune. I am a Scorpio you know" He just looked at me and his brother dragged him away. That was kinda fun!! yeah I know, picking on poor helpless children...Isn't that what Halloween is all about?

Oh Hey! an early birthday present for me from the nice folks at Ford. My silver Focus Lancelot, well he just had his inspection and oil changed today and he needs a full set of tires! When all said and done Total Cost: approx $570!! Yippeee! I am sure many of you can relate! Where is my Sugar Daddy when I need him????

Happy Birthday Carolyn!

Carolyn Turns 30, October 30th!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLYN!

Fun stuff happening to celebrate her Birthday this weekend. Let's see what the schedule of event is shall we?

Friday night it's off the The Limp Lizard Lounge with her crew from work. We may or may not be dressing up, but if we do it will be pretty low key and comfy. Hopefully I will have pics to post next week of the hillarity that ensues. This is a fairly new place that is about 5 minutes from our apartment. They serve mexican and BBQ and the food is pretty descent. Margaritas y Cervesa!!!!!

Saturday night will be the Y94FM Halloween Bash following dinner at Tokyo Seoul Japanese Hibachi! A bunch of us will be getting all spooked out to hit the NYS Fairgrounds for the Halloween Party. Don't worry y'all, I will bring the camera this time!!! Two bands and lots of fun and costume judging. Maybe Carolyn will meet a fireman and I will meet a Pirate...aarrgghh!

Looking forward to a great Halloween Birthday Bash for Carolyn. We are all looking forward to a great weekend. I am sure I will have some great stories to tell!

Please post a comment to wish Carolyn a Happy Birthday!

Whatever Wednesday!!!

Since everyone enjoys Whatever Wednesdays so much (not) I thought I would post another random group of subjects.

I am scheduled to get a hair cut and color next Thursday Nov. 3. The grays are KILLING me and I need a new style. I don't really have one right now. Think I am going back to my bangs from a year ago and chopping a few inches. So I was thinking for Halloween I should be the Bride of Frankenstein with all my streaks of white!!! Found this cute little hair quiz that you might enjoy...I did! My hair was eggplant once...and peole seemed to like it! What's your Funky Hair Color?

Your Hair Should Be Purple

Intense, thoughtful, and unconventional.
You're always philosophizing and inspiring others with your insights.

So I want to travel and use a week of vacation at some point. I was thinking Cancun, but during the school breaks EVERYONE and their brother goes and flights are WICKED expensive. So, I am thinkingI need to find a more budget friendly trip... Hey Jen, what's it like in Wilmington in February? BRRRRRRR???? Or maybe April, I know it's warmer then! ARRGGHH! Not that I have the money to travel but it seems like everyone else travels so why not me? I need to get out and go someplace! I just want to have a little fun and explore someplace new!!Maybe I should be like LL Cool J. and be "Goin' back to Cali" HAHAH! Any suggestions?

Sitting at my desk here at work (don't tell anyone I'm blogging on the clock!) I am looking at an apple that I brought in. It's just sitting there, but it has a strange bruise on the side, shaped sort of like an eyeball. It's like a cyclops apple, stalking me. Perhaps the work polics have installed a small camera in my apple and are trying to disguise it to spy on me during the day...

WE INTERUPT THIS POST FOR A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR
"Want to keep tabs on your employees? Want to make sure they are working for every measely penny you pay them? Invest in THE APPLE-CAM. Small descreet and a lovely addition to any office decor, the APPLE-CAM is sure to get the dirt on all your emplyees. Also available in PEAR-CAM, ORANGE-CAM and for the Fall season CORNICOPIA-CAM!!"

Man, I crack myself up!

I am taking a course in Genetics online and the discussion I jsut participated in was about human cloning. Some freak suggested that we make the humans "brain dead" so they don't know they are being used for scientific study. I couldn't resist so I posted that that sounded like the Frankenstein story. I apologized for teh Halloween story but it fit! scientist builds guy to use for experiments in reanimation and VIOLA! He actually feels and understands and is sad that everyone hates him b/c he is a monster. Brain dead human Clones. Wonder what the professor thought of that post! Is there any compassion for human life anymore? Does it mean anything or have we become so desensitized by everything around us that it's like life is a video game? Craziness!

That was a bit sobering huh? If I mention T-BOP, would you laugh? You would if you have been reading my blog regularly!! Just kidding, seriously check out the post on October 21 if you haven't already.

Well that's all for now. I may be back with another post having to do with the Band Names that Christine and I came up with a very long time ago!!! That should be fun! I will try to remember them!

SpookFest 2005!

The Friday Night Ghost Hunt at The Landmark Theater: Birthday Surprise for Carolyn!

Carolyn was surprised and excited (thankfully!) so I guess we did a good thing!! We arrived and there were tons of people (maybe 150 or more?) and the line for drinks was long...so we each double fisted so we didn't have to wait in line a second time!

At 8pm we all entered the the theater and sat down for a presentation. The Founder did a slide show of pictures and then played recordings of EVP, the electronic recording of what is believed to be ghost voices. Using a digital recorder they pick up wispers and sounds that can be interpreted as words. Many of them were hard to hear, but a few were so distinct and clear that the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I got chills! It was really cool. They also had a video on Beardslee Castle in Little Falls that told the stories of hauntings there. This group does regular visits to Beardslee Castle because it is considered one of the most haunted places in Central New York. They also mentioned that Gettysberg, PA is extremely haunted and told of some creepy experiences they had while investigating there!

I went to the website and grabbed one pic that was interesting from the presentation:
The woman walking in the pink shirt is the founder of the CNY Ghost Hunter Society. She said noone else besides herself and her camera guy (who is obviously taking the photo)were in the cemetary that day...Who is that man to her left on the edge of the pic? She says none was there!

After the presentation groups would be taken for a tour of the theater on a "ghost hunt" with members of the CNY Ghost Hunters. This was a bit chaotic and unorganized and I was a bit dissappointed with this portion of the evening. Groups were too large and the members had no clue where to go and groups would run in to each other and cause bottle necks. Carolyn Stacy and I decided to explore on our own. No, no ghosts and no pic to prove anything because Stacy was a flake and left her camera home! even after she said she would bring it etc. I guess the old idea "if you want something done right do it yourself" is still true, maybe now more than ever...but that's another post!!

The Landmark is a beautiful theater decorated in gold splendor much like the Stanley Theater in Utica. The Landmark, "often labeled Indo-Persian", featured a large mural in the lobby, guilded walls and a grand staircase among other amazing carvings and designs throughout. I was defiantely taken by the grandeur of the place and even tho the tour was not successful in ghost hunting, it was a treat to see the backstage, dressing rooms and catecombs that few people get a chance to see.

Look for Central New York Ghost Hunters on the future show "One Step Beyond" on the Discovery Channel. I believe they said sometime in Late November or December it will air.

SPOOKHILL FARMS AND SACKET'S HARBOR HAUNTED HOUSE!

Saturday was our Henderson Trip to Spookhill Farms. Anne, Erin and Shineigh met Carol and Carolyn up at Mike and Kim's house late Saturday morning. After lunch we waited for a two of Kevin's friends, Nick and Bryant, to get there then we headed off to Spook Hill Farms. Erin and I in the car on our way to Spook Hill Farms. We are so darn cute!

Kevin, Thomas, Eli, Nick, Bryant, Erin, Shineigh and Nate went thru the corn maze while Anne, Kim, Mike Carolyn and I ate cotton candy and bought carmel apples, pumkins, Blueberry wine and homemade jams. Tho it was daylight, they still had fun in the maze. When they got out we decided to go into the haunted house. Carolyn had already been a marked target for one of the Spooks as she stood outside the chicken door laughing and pointing at scared patrons on their way out.

Afterwards we headed back hom to eat dinner. A lovely spread of Baked Ziti, salad and garlic bread fed our hungers. We needed our strength for what was to come later that evening!!!!

Aunt Carol always brings the glowsticks!! Before we left for our next adventure, everyone got a glowstick or two. Many fashion statements were made. We were prepared...we thought!

Next,we were on our way to the Sackets Harbor Haunted House! Beware the Phantom! He's Everywhere! Well, I sure didn't see him but we did see some other scary things! All but Annie, Mike and Nate came along...they were the smart ones!

This year Sackets Harbor Sentinels School Band put on a Haunted House, "The Haunted Thriller Theater". It was held in the old theater building at Madison Barracks, Sackets Harbor, New York.

We wound our way throught the maze in to rooms where actors would portray scary skits. Something inevitably would jump out at you and chase you out of the room at the end. Our Guide was hard of hearing and thought Nick was calling her a "Good Guy" when he was actually calling her a "Good Guide". I wish I had had a camera to catch Nick screaming in that first room! That has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen!

We all held on to each other for dear life as we twisted our way through the haunted theater. One skit involved a live rat being shoved into your face, another had masked Scream people trying to knife you. Personally, the spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling were a bit too realistic!!

Finally we made it to the end. The door opened and we walked down the ramp to safety...and then three chainsaw guys surrounded us, we tried to run but two more came down the other path!! We were trapped...like rats. Bryant was in with the fiends and left us to fend for ourselves. While Carolyn and I were surrounded by the chainsaw freaks, Kevin, Nick, Eli, Thomas and Bryant were forming a conga line and impromptu squaredancing. Nice boys huh? We finally escaped (no thanks to the boys!) and ran back to the car where Shineigh and Erin were waiting. They chickened out and didn't come in, but I wish they had! The ending was the best part! Those guys were real "cut ups!" HAHAHHAHAHAH!

When we arrived back home in Henderson, the crew watched the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Fitting right? Kim, Anne, Mike, Carolyn, Nate and I listened to "Scary Stories around the Fire with Uncle Guts", a CD I had brought in honor of Uncle Mark. We sat around the candle and listened to stories like "The Monkey's Paw", "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", "Dracula" and "Frankenstein".

The next morning before we left, we took a picture to commemorate the fun time had by all.
From Left onFloor: Carolyn, Carol and Nate. From left on Couch: Shineigh, THomas, Nick, Kevin (nice shades), Bryant and Erin.

A great kickoff to the Halloween season!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!

Happy Birthday Christine!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!

Today, my friend Christine turns 30. I am sure she appreciates me saying that on my blog, but hey, 30 is a good thing!!

I would like to share some fun facts about Christine that I am sure she'll be happy I mentioned as well!

* Her nickname for most of college (to her dismay) was "Spitty".
* She studied abroad in England one semester in college.
* Christine was blamed for not changing the toilet paper roll when it was empty. A charge that was never proven and to our knowledge, then one who blamed was the one who did it!
* Christine has two brothers and grew up on Long Island.
* She now lives in Greenwich Village.
* Christine enjoys singing Pink Floyd and Iggy Pop tunes. Especially songs about bikes and nighclubbing...
* Sometimes I refer to her as Christiny Bean, but I am not sure she even knows that!

For those of us who know Christine, she is a great friend to have. She is up for anything, very easy going and conversations are never dull. She has a unique outlook on life. She is always generous and willing to listen. I especially enjoy listening to her stories of traveling. She has been to England a few times, Spain and Italy. She is someone whom I hope to travel to someplace cool with someday soon. I respect her opinion and her advice. She is a true friend. I have known her since freshman year of college and I am so glad we are still such great friends!

Happy Birthday Christine! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Please post a comment and wish Christine your own Birthday Wish!

The best Pirate adventure movie EVER turned 25 this year! Yep! The Goonies!! The celebration for all Goonies was held in Astoria, Oregon where parts of the movie were filmed. Mikey and Brand's house was open for tours as well as the Historical society where Mikey's Dad worked! I wish I had known sooner (or could be more spontaneous!) Never been to Astoria, but Cannon Beach was an AMAZING experience for me. If they have a 30th...I am there!!

Okay, so maybe some of you are doubting my reference to the best Pirate Adventure movie EVER. I mean, yeah, we are leaving out a VERY important Pirate! He swaggers, loves rum and big boats... I mean Ships. Ahh the talented Captain Jack Sparrow! Sailing the seas, finding treasure, daring escapes with sea turtles...err, anyway here's a pic!

Just remember: you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest...Honestly! Oh, and that goes for the monkey too!

Well, that be all for now my little poppets. I've been posting a lot lately and havin' a bit too much fun with it ye might say! Hope I've kept ya chucklin' thru yer day. "May there always be wind in yer sails, grog in yer mug and treasure at yer feet Matey!"

Monster names, haunted theaters, Domino and T-Bop!

In keeping with the Monsters and ghosts theme, here is a lovely litle quiz to see what you Monster name would be. Check out mine and try it out for yourself!!

Your Monster Profile

Blood Thirsty Slimer

You Feast On: Pickles

You Lurk Around In: Nude Beaches

You Especially Like to Torment: Cops

Weird...I enjoy the name, I do like pickles and tormenting Cops does sound like fun, but Nude beaches??? EEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

I am totally hoping to see/hear some paranormal stuff tonight at the Landmark Theater. Carolyn will be so freakin' surprised. We'll be pulling into a parking lot in downtwon Syracuse and She'll be like "Why are we parking here?" then Stacey and I can say "We need to check the directions and map" and then give her the card we made her that tells her what's REALLY going on. She is CLUELESS! Stacey is definately brining her camera and I cannot wait to post them! I bet we will get a bunch of Orbs in the pics! How cool would that be???

Ok, I am just a bit excited. I love surprising people. I work hard to make gifts or things really special that the person will truly enjoy. Isn't that what it's all about? Ok so you caught me. I am a kind, giving person. Let's move on.

Remember the post about English Accents? Well, I saw a new ad for the movie "Domino" last night and all I can say is "I am Domino Harvey. I am a Bounty Hunter"
I won't be seing this movie in the theater for sure. Perhaps I will rent it if nothing else looks good. I just like the line!!!

Anywho....

TGIF People! It is Friday and woo-hoo!!!! I did hear something really funny (of course I would find this funny) on the radio whilst driving to work this am. This duo, Ted and Amy, are trying to find a catch phrase to encompass their show and to use all the time. People are calling in and using their names or initials etc. One person remembered a story about Amy's neice who one was little and they kept asking if she had to go to the bathroom. She said no and by the time they got to the top of the building (on a tour) she said to Amy "I gotta Tiny Bit Of Poop in my pants" This apparently works well with the hosts initials (Tom B, Amy P.)and the caller thought that TBOP or T-BOP would be a great phrase for them. Amy was disgusted that "Tiny Bit Of Poop" would be what she was remembered for, but Tom was envisioning the Mayor coming up to them and sayding "Well Hello Tom and Amy! Tiny Bit Of Poop to ya!" Seriously say it out loud, it's hysterical and I almost drove off 690 listening to it!

Ok, random thoughts lately may be disturbing some of you that don't know me so well so I will end with something that foes along with a post about Monster Names, Haunted Theaters, Domino Harvey and Tiny Bit Of Poop...

"Hi-dee Ho Kids! It' Mr Hankey! Have a Fantastic Weekend and don't forget to wash your hands!!!"

T-BOP!!!!

Halloween for Pie Hole!

HALLOWEEN FOR PIE HOLE!!

What will pie hole be this Halloween you ask? Well I have a few ideas: I like to call this first one "Piggy Pie Hole"

Ok, maybe I wasn't trying hard enough. How about The Great Pumpkin?

I know, I'm not really stretching afr enough huh? Maybe the Bride of Frankenstein:

Wait! Wait! I KNOW!!!!! How about EVIL SPAWN OF SATAN?

Hey! Remember when South Park did a Halloween episode and toted it in the trailers as being in "Spooky Vision"? Well, when you got to see the episode, a Barbara Striesand head was floating in each of the corners of the screen. At the end of the scene it would come hurtling towards you screaming! Hysterical. Wish I could animate my Pie Hole...wait, that didn't sound right!!!!! Rewind. Edit!

Anyway back to the topic at hand. Seriously I think I finally have the perfect Costume! Noone would know it was Pie Hole in a million years! She could dress up like she is employed at the XYZ Corporation, complete with play money! Everyone pretends on Halloween, why not Pie Hole???

In all the painting I discovered some fun with the photo editor. Here is a pic to really creep you out!!

Funny how you still know exactly who that is...not much of a "stretch" there!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

CAN YOU HANDLE IT??????????????????????....................

Yeah I know, I know. If you are thinking of that song that goes 'Too much time on my hands', you'd be right! That is my theme song today! Hey! Don't forget Smallville at 8pm and CSI at 9pm!! It's Thursday!!!!!!

Once again it's Whatever Wednesday!!!

Yep, Wednesday again, and I feel myself looking at everything around me and saying "Whatever!" Seriously, it's not the beginning of the week, it's not the end of the week. It's middle of the road, do you think you can survive a few more days part of the week. even tho noone really commented on my last post of WHATEVER WEDNESDAY... I do have some things to look forward to this weekend tho. Let's take a look at what those are, shall we?

Firstly, Friday is surprise day for Carolyn, one of my closest friends who is also my roomate. God I hope she doesn't decided to start reading my blog now!! She loves ghost stories and shows about ghostly hauntings and investigators. Yeah, she's a bit obsessed, but it comes in handy when shopping for birthday gifts this time of year. Her Birthday is Ocober 30th and usually is overshadowed by Halloween. This year she turns 30 and I am making sure she has fun. Even tho Friday the 21st is a whole week ahead of schedule, the surprise is sure to work b/c she won't be expecting it! Ok so here's the deal: Stacey and I are taking her to the Landmark Theater...

The Landmark Theater here in Syracuse is holding a little thing called "Ghost Hunts" to raise money for rhe theater. After a cocktail hour, investigators from the CNY Ghost Hunters will be there to give a presentation on the ghosts and evidence they have found in this historic theater. Then the audience is split into groups and taken throughout the theater on a "ghost hunt". Apparently there is a ghost named Clarissa who fell to her death from the balcony after seeing her love die at the hands of an electric switchboard on stage...at least that's what I have heard so far anyway. She is said to roam the theater and the smell of lilacs (a perfume she wore)is sensed before she appears.

Carolyn is going to crap her pants when she finds out! She thinks we are going to some haunted hayride thing that she has been excited about for the past two weeks, but we are taking a little detour! I will let you all know how that turns out! Maybe Stacey and I will have some pics for me to post of our adventure!

You can learn more about the CNY ghost hunters at: www.gotghosts.org

Or the Historic Landmark Theater: www.landmarktheater.org

Can you tell my mood by my blog style today? I am a bit silly and excited about that surprise! What's your mood? Try out the link below!

Your Mood Ring is Dark Red

Very happy
Love
Passion

On Saturday, weather permitting, Spookhill is finally upon us! I have posted about our fun at the Haunted House, the corn maze and cider donuts. What is fall without that kind of fun? Especially with my family! We are such a riot! Hopefully it will not rain, perhaps a prayer or spell will help us with our cause.

"Oh Gods of rain and cold! Do not ruin our weekend of tomfoolery! We have toiled long and hard for this one revelry!! If the rain clouds condense and pour showers of your curses down upon us in water form, I shall smite you!!!!"

Sorry, I am having Monty Python withdrawels! Need...Flying...circus...stat!

Anywho, if it does rain, we will stayinside and play silly games and watch scary movies. It will be fine! We always have fun! And Hey! You can use Glowsticks indoors you know!!!HAHAHAH! Kevin, Thomas, Nathan and Erin would be upset if there were no glow sticks I know!

Switching gears now to a more serious subject. What is the deal with married guys? I am telling you, does no one respect the bonds and commitment of marriage anymore? If you want to be a player all your life here's a tip: DON'T GET MARRIED! If you don't get married you can be with whoever you want whenever you want and not hurt soemone else! Oh and just because you are married doesn't mean you are automatically more desirable to women. If you are short, ugly and uneducated, marriage doesn't fix that! Stop thinking cute girls will be interested in messing around with you! I respect the sanctity of marriage and when you don't, you lose my respect as a human being. Get a clue!!!

On a positive note, if you look like Gerry Butler please ask me to run away with you...but you still can't be married!!

Ok. That's it. The end! I put a pic of Gerry up and now I can't concentrate on anything else I would like to comment on. He is filthy rotten isn't he?
