Summer Gets in the Way
I haven't posted since May. Wow. I am sure no one is reading this anymore, but if you are checking back every-so-often, here is what I have been up to:
Still job hunting, looking to get into some free-lance writing if I can, and ultimately marketing for a creative group/design/advertising/PR firm, a museum/historical site or a company who makes something interesting (LOL).
Seeing lost of movies this summer. You can see reviews for big summer movies like Inception, Salt and later today I will post my review for The Expendables at my new blog Movie Megaphone.
Went to see Sting and the Ryal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at the end of July. He never ceases to amaze me. It's cliche' but like a fine wine, he gets better and better with age. Sting surrounds himself with the most amazing musicians and engages the audience in a very intimate way. A seasoned performer, incredible musician and in amazing shape, it's no wonder Sting remains tops on my list!
Another project on the horizon: A friend of mine wants to publish a book about her trials and tribulations of thyroid cancer and wants me to write it. I am excited about this and hope this becomes a reality soon. It would be great for her to get her story out there, and great for me to get writing for real.
This summer has been one of the best in a while for me. I am feeling good, have lost 15 pounds, have made some amazing connections with friends, and am filled with possibility and positivity.
